The Light of the World

James Rochford
John 8:12-59

The perils of denying the Light of the World are judgment, loss of freedom and a darkened mind. For those who have an open mind and receive the Light, they have forgiveness, regained freedom and an enlightened mind.

Living the Already, Not Yet

Ben Foust
1 Corinthians 6:1-20

Worldly wisdom says our bodies are our own to do as we like, but Godly wisdom says our bodies were bought with a price and our bodies are spiritually significant as we are His agency in this world.

The Return of the King

Conrad Hilario
Revelation 19-20

When Jesus comes back and inaugurates the Millennial Kingdom, He will bring about true social justice, world peace and spiritual enlightenment. Nature will never again harm humans, and though mortal, the inhabitants will not suffer from sicknesses. All will celebrate with great joy. After the Millennial Kingdom closes, there will be one more rebellion which Jesus will snuff out and then comes judgment. Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire along with anyone who did not choose to ask Jesus to forgive their sins.

King David's Downfall

Scott Risley
2 Samuel 11-12

Fall & Restoration of David

James Rochford
2 Samuel 11-12

In this chapter of King David's life, we see he has lost his focus on God and fallen into lust and laziness. He missed every escape opportunity. When confronted by Nathan the Prophet, he repents and admits his sin is against God first and foremost. He does not blame-shift or minimize, but instead he is honest and accepts responsibility and the consequences of his actions.

God's New Man

Dennis McCallum
1 Samuel 15-17

After Saul's repeated disobedience to God's commands, God picks a new leader, the young shepherd boy, David. When the armies of God are being defied by the Philistine giant, Goliath, David trusts God to give Goliath into his hand even though he is only armed with a stone and a sling. Where the entire Israelite army cowered in fear, David had a divine perspective and was willing to do something audacious.

Drawing Near to God

Conrad Hilario
1 Samuel 4-6

God longs for us to draw near to Him to have a relationship with Him, yet we are so prone to draw near to God with the desire to control Him. The Israelites learned not to mistake the Ark of the Covenant for the true power of God. Humans cannot control God to do their will by wielding the Ark like a magical item.

God's Hope

Mike Sullivan
Ezekiel 7:19-20:31

Throughout the book of Ezekiel, we can see the hope that God puts forth for His people even in the midst of judgement.

Results of God Becoming Human

Jim Leffel
Hebrews 2:5-18

Christ's death solved humanity's problem of sin by presenting victory over issues that only God can fix, paying a debt that humans cannot pay, and demonstrating his love and justice to us.
