A. God's Nature

  1. Unity - I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:4-6
  2. Trinity - Isaiah 48:12-16*; Isaiah 61:1*; Matthew 28:19

B. The Attributes of God

  1. Omniscience - Knows all things actual or possible at once (Psalms 147:5; Isaiah 40:28).
  2. Omnipresence - Transcends all limits of space (Psalms 139:7-10).
  3. Omnipotence - Can do whatever He wants (Genesis 18:14; II Timothy 2:13).
  4. Sovereignty - He owns the creation and rules it, causing all of His creatures to depend on Him (Genesis 14:19; Acts 17:24-28).
  5. Love (grace) - He always treats His creation with love and an attitude of mercy (I John 4:16).
  6. Righteousness - His moral character is the definition of goodness (Mark 10:18; Job 34:10; Hab. 1:13).
  7. Immutability - Devoid of change with regard to His attributes or promises (Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17; I Samuel 15:29).
  8. Veracity - Speaks of both truthfulness and faithfulness (Hebrews 6:18; Numbers 2 3:19; Titus 1:2).
  9. Infinite - Free from all limitations (Psalms 90:2).
  10. Self-Existent - The ground of His existence is Himself - God is uncaused and exists by necessity of His own being, therefore necessarily. See divine name YHWH (Exodus 3:14; Jn. 5:26; Isaiah 40:18). Totally independent.
  11. Justice - Retributive only towards fallen man, remunerative toward unfallen creatures (Romans 2:1-16).
