Needless Annihilation or Justifiable Elimination?

Joshua 10 is among multiple passages within the Old Testament that recount the story of God’s instruction to Joshua to eradicate the Canaanites. This biblical account is often met with confusion and contention, by believers and nonbelievers alike. How could a perfectly good, morally just God order such an act? New Atheists have resorted to using terms like “holy war”, “genocide”, and “propaganda” to describe this command.

So, is there a way to make sense of this? Is there a logical, reliable explanation that sets this apart from being just another ruthless, unfounded attack in the name of God we’ve so often read about in history books?

On Friday, February 6th, Dr. Eric Tully of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School will be discussing this event, providing a well-grounded, illuminating lecture on the relevant sections of the book of Joshua and the nature of this Ban. This free lecture will take place from 7-8 pm at Xenos Christian Fellowship in the Main Campus Auditorium - 1390 Community Park Dr. Columbus, OH 43229.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain a greater understanding of such a complex topic and of God’s true character.

Reserved seating is available for groups of 10 or more people! If you have any questions, would like to make a reservation or to know more about promotional materials, contact Josh Benadum (benadumj@xenos.orgby February 3rd.
