The Xenos ACCESS Ministry serves a key purpose in providing the gospel for people of nearly all ages with disabilities or those who are not able to interact with biblical teachings and church functions in a conventional way. A present need within this developing ministry is for ASL interpreters.
The Interpreting Team ministry within ACCESS provides quality ASL services to deaf patrons who attend various meetings and events held weekly at Xenos. With more and more of the Deaf community seeking Christ through Xenos, the Interpreting Team is nearly stretched beyond their means in trying to keep up. Some specific examples where help is needed are with central teachings, home church, cell group, equipping classes, Xenos Summer Institute, church-wide meetings and special events. This is an essential service for bringing in and providing deaf believers with a means to have a healthy role within the church.
If you are a professional ASL interpreter, have graduated from an Interpreter Training Program, like CSCC Interpreter Education Program, or are currently a student in such a program, you are eligible! These positions are all on a volunteer basis and are a great opportunity to have a radical impact in shepherding people to Christ.
If you are eligible and excited to join this team or have any questions on ACCESS’ Interpreting Team ministry, contact Stephanie McHenry at firstname.lastname@example.org or (614) 570-7680).
