2013 World Relief Refugee Settlement

April 10, 2014

Dear Friends and Donors,

We want to share our deepest gratitude and appreciation for your support of World Relief Columbus.  In 2013 we resettled 160 refugees from Somalia, Iraq, Bhutan, Burma (Myanmar), Iran, Eritrea, and the Congo.  We plan to resettle close to 200 refugees in 2014.

We are excited to announce the opening of two ministry apartments thanks to our donors!  World Relief Columbus has rented apartments in the Abbey Lane complex on Morse Road and an apartment in Whispering Oaks on Dresden Street. These apartments are utilized to provide much needed service to refugees where they reside.

Local churches have engaged volunteers to teach classes and provide other services needed in these apartments. Classes currently offered include english as a second language (ESL), after school tutoring, citizenship, and women’s health. We are currently working toward employment classes and safety classes.  We welcome volunteers and we provide training classes for all volunteers.

God has blessed us in so many ways.  We are looking forward to another great year serving in this ministry. Thank you again for your support!

In Christ,

Kay Lipovsky
