We praise God for the progress of the work He is doing in Haiti. Three ministry teams from Xenos Christian Fellowship visited Haiti in 2015, witnessing firsthand the blessings made possible by your sacrificial giving.
Last year, our teams shared public health information about the devastating effects of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria, dengue fever, and the widespread outbreak of chikungunya. Now, in 2015, there’s another menace to add to the list: Zika. The spread of Zika, with the potentially catastrophic effects of the disease among certain populations, has caused us to put our summer ministry trip on hold. Pray for the protection of our Haitian brothers and sisters, who can’t choose to change their itinerary in order to avoid a Zika infection. Pray especially for the young translators and deacons who are getting married and starting families, as they are among the most vulnerable.
It was a record setting year for our partnership with Pastor Duplessy and the Beraka church. We held nearly 250 new souls into the kingdom! I am humbled that God would invite us to witness his glory in these remote villages in southeast Haiti.
In September, Mona Duplessy received double knee-replacement surgeries here in Columbus. Every bill, from the surgeon to the hospital to the physical therapy, was generously and miraculously forgiven! Hope led to brainstorming, which emboldened an individual to pray and put the request before a surgeon, who led the way by offering to waive his customary fees.
Praise God for his unspeakable kindness and power!
Please pray for the 2016 ministry initiatives:
- The Beraka clinic has hired Dr. Daniel Joseph as their doctor. The resident clinic is now operational, complete with microscope and centrifuge to assist with analysis. Please pray for Dr. Daniel and his team to bring a mobile evangelistic medical clinic to two extra-local towns each month.
- Pastor Duplessy is praying and searching for 4 men to provide regional church planting leadership in La Montagne, La Vallee, Peredo and Macary. Pray for God to guide the selection of these key leaders.
- Please pray for the new deacons at Beraka. These are zealous young men with a heart for leadership. Pray for continued commitment to discipleship for Pastor Duplessy and his deacons. Multiplication of leadership and vision is absolutely critical to the church planting mission.
We praise God for your faithfulness in supporting our Haitian brothers and sisters through your prayers and finances. May we continue adorning the gospel, binding the wounds and bringing hope in the name of Jesus.
With hearts full of gratitude,
