Support Ministries

Good Grief - Good Grief is a support group for college age and young adults who have experienced the loss of a parent or loved one. Meeting other young people who have lost a family member can help normalize the experience for 20-somethings, who often do not know anyone else who has experienced the death of a loved one. Our goal is to comfort, encourage, and instruct people who are grieving while providing a safe place to be open about the pain of that process through listening, understanding, and instruction. This facilitates deeper personal relationships with God and others, resulting in a greater understanding of the coexistence of pain, hope, and joy, and thereby increasing our witness to the world around us. Good Grief meets every other month on the second Tuesday at 6:30 pm.  For more information, email

Navigating Your Grief - This 10-week workshop is designed to encourage, educate, and equip individuals who are grieving the death of a loved one. It utilizes the GriefShare videos as well as group discussion to help people at all stages of grief understand the grief experience and obtain the tools to move through it. It presents a Biblical perspective on grief, suffering, and trust in God. This workshop offers comfort and support to those grieving as well as practical suggestions and reassurances through interviews with counselors, grief experts, and others who have experienced the pain of losing a loved one. New sessions begin on the second Tuesday each September and the first Wednesday each January. For more information, email

HEART - (Healing the Effects of Abortion Related Trauma) HEART is a 7-week workshop for women who have had their lives affected by abortion. We are here to help women work through the guilt, shame, grief and secrecy surrounding abortion in a confidential, caring atmosphere. Each week walks through specific steps to address any unresolved anger, forgiveness, emotional healing and restoration that is needed using thought-provoking exercises, bible study, and prayer. We use God’s word to gain a deeper understanding of his mercy, grace and forgiveness to aid in the healing process. All calls are confidential and discreet. Contact Ann at (614) 823-6510 x1727 for more information.

HOPE Ministry (Alcohol and Drug Addiction) - Hope ministry is a Christ-centered recovery group whose goal is to reach persons who struggle with alcohol and / or drug addiction.  We believe that healing from addiction comes from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is lived out in a vibrant community of Christians who care about one another and keep one another accountable.  While many of the Hope Ministry members are, or have been, involved in 12-step recovery, Hope is not a 12-step meeting.  Instead we focus on the truth that God who created us says is true about us. We believe that our identity, far from centered on the addiction that has controlled our life, is centered on the new identity that God gives us when we meet Him personally through His Son Jesus Christ. For more information, call Rob Nugen 614-823-6510, ext. 1722 or Max Hughes 614-805-1657.

PROMISE - PROMISE is a weekly Bible-oriented support group for people who have or have had relationships with a loved one who is an addict, alcoholic, or substance-dependent. Our mission is to provide tools and encouragement to be God-dependent rather than co-dependent.  With a growing relationship in Christ, we facilitate building healthy communication and address unresolved hurt, anger and anxiety.  This is not a Home Church, but has some similar elements of Bible study, discussion, fellowship, and prayer.   PROMISE meets Saturdays 10-11 am at Xenos Christian Fellowship, 1340 Community Park Dr, Columbus, OH 43229, Main Auditorium Room 211.

This includes addressing character defects, facing the challenges of relational growth, male sexuality and developing in self-giving love.
