Thanks for Your Donation to Youth for Christ in 2015!

April, 2016

Dear Humanitarian Aid Fund Friends:

Central Ohio Youth for Christ sincerely thanks you for your partnership in our mission to reach young people throughout Central Ohio.  The gift of the 2015 Humanitarian Aid Fund helps to support our various outreaches to teens in many different contexts: urban, suburban, incarcerated and trafficked. We’re thankful to God for how He has blessed YFC’s ministry this past year:

  • 1444 teens and adults heard the Gospel
  • 233 made decisions for Christ
  • 58 teens committed to a discipleship relationship
  • 43 young people chose to become student leaders
  • 6 teen mothers graduated high school

One of our team members, Steve Telfer, works with youth who have been incarcerated at an area Juvenile Detention Center.  “Randy” shared the following words with him: “You are the first person I have ever opened up to in my life.”   Randy went on to share how he’d been ordered by the courts to undergo mental health and drug counseling, but he found this awkward and difficult.  Trusting adults is a roadblock for most probationary youth, especially adults the teens do not know.

Another team member, Nicole, works with a young girl who is extremely shy. It took many weeks before she opened up about her life. Her mother is sick which impacts the entire family. She’d harbored negative thoughts about God but kept her doubts and anger to herself. She attended our annual summer camp where the teens spend a lot of time in “family groups.” She felt such love and acceptance that she began to be vulnerable with others and experience true fellowship.

These two students illustrate why we are so committed to relational ministry. If our teens don’t truly know that we care for them, they’re not going to listen to what we say about God. But when those bonds are formed and teens are ready to listen, God works mightily to draw them into a relationship with Him

We praise God that He allows us to work with teens who so desperately want to be loved and accepted. And we thank you for helping to equip us for this work through your prayers and gifts.

Thank you so much for your investment in Central Ohio Youth for Christ through the Humanitarian Aid Fund.

In Him,

Scott Arnold
