2013 Xenos Free Clinics

April 21, 2014

Friends and Supporters of the Xenos Free Clinics,

Thank you for your contribution to the Xenos Free Clinics through your donation to the Xenos Humanitarian Aid Fund.  The generosity of 19 households that asked for their donation to be directed to the Xenos Free Clinics, fully funded the Humanitarian Aid Fund allowance for the operation of the clinics.  Without your support, we would not be able to continue our ministry serving the working poor and homeless of central Ohio.  Year after year, many of the same households have financially supported the work of the clinics.

This year marks the 6th anniversary of the Xenos Free Clinics, which first opened at 40 Chicago Ave. on February 26, 2008.  One year later we opened a 2nd medical clinic at 1934 N Fourth St. to which we added the Optometry Clinic the following year in 2010.  In 2011 we opened the Dental Clinic at 171 E Fifth Ave.   We also have offered Physical Therapy services almost since the inception of the clinics.

Additionally, we have 2 prescription assistance volunteers, who spend many hours working with pharmaceutical companies to get patient’s medications not covered on the $4.00 prescription plan offered at the large pharmacies.  Without these volunteers, for example, many people would not be able to get insulin.

On January 13th this year, Bruce Robinson opened the doors of the Xenos Legal Clinic with 6 volunteer attorneys.  That first night there was one client, by the 4th night there were 7 clients.  Plans are in the works for a 3rd medical clinic at the Xenos Main Campus.  We hope to have that operational by the end of this year.

The heart of our ministry is the prayer teams who meet with patients before or after their clinic visits to share the gospel of Christ.  Going to the prayer team is completely up to the patient/client.  They can choose to go or not go to the prayer team.   We have had nearly 2,000 prayer team encounters, through which 80 people have come to know Christ, and many are now attending CT or are part of a home church.

We have 175 volunteers including prayer team members, coordinators, registration specialists, greeters, nurses, physical therapists, dentists, dental hygienists, doctors and lawyers.

Without your contributions, none of this would be possible.  Thank you for your continued support of the Xenos Free Clinics.  We hope we can count on your continued support!

In Christ,

Doug Rudy, Ministry Team Leader

Tony Khoury, Medical Director
