Josh Benadum - Sphere Leader and Elder Candidate
Josh graduated from the Ohio State University. He received a Masters from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2017. He has been married to Meri and has a daughter. He has been a home church leader in the college ministry since 2009 and has been leading in the high school ministry since 2008. Josh teaches a Central Teaching weekly for several hundred high schoolers. He has planted numerous student groups. He teaches a leadership training class for college students.
Gary DeLashmutt - Lead Pastor
Gary is the Senior Sphere Leader and teacher of adult Central Teachings. An author, he also teaches a Homiletics Workshop and other training courses in Xenos. He and his wife, Bev, lead a post-college home group near the Ohio State University, and have raised up leaders and planted several home churches over the years. Gary holds a B.A. in history from Ohio State and an M.A. from Ashland Theological Seminary. They have two grown daughters. Together with Dennis McCallum, Gary co-oversees all senior sphere leaders in student and adult ministry.
Dennis McCallum - Lead Pastor
Dennis is a lecturer, an author of several books, a teacher of leadership classes, a leader and teacher at the Campus Bible Study near Ohio State. As college home group leaders, he and his wife, Holly, have raised up leaders and planted several college home churches. Dennis holds a B.A. in history from Ohio State and an M.A. from Ashland Theological Seminary. They have three grown children and several grandchildren.
Scott Arnold - Senior Sphere Leader
Scott teaches at Xenos’ Franklinton (or West side) Central Teaching location. He also is the executive director of Central Ohio Youth for Christ, a partner with Xenos in urban youth work. Scott serves on the national YFC/USA board and on the advisory team of Mission Columbus. Scott received a psychology degree from Ohio State and masters of biblical studies from Ashland Seminary. He and his wife, Annette, have been Xenos home group leaders and teachers for more than two decades. They have two children.
Ben Foust - Senior Sphere Leader
Ben’s work includes coaching and working with Home church leaders, regularly teaching CT and classes, and biblical counseling. Originally from Worthington, Ben met Christ through a Xenos high school home church, and spent many years in the college ministry. Ben graduated from Captial University, and has an M.A. in Curriculum Classroom Instruction from Ashland University. He is pursuing a master’s degree in Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife, Sarah, and their 2 children live in Worthington and lead a home church.
Chris Hearty - Elder & Senior Sphere Leader
Chris is a new sphere leader in the College Ministry. He teaches Central Teachings as well as classes at Xenos. He is also currently in a Master's Program, from which he will soon graduate. He and his wife Lauren have one child.
Conrad Hilario - Elder & Senior Sphere Leader
Conrad leads one of the most dynamic spheres in our campus ministry. He has successfully planted a number of home churches and he has raised up numerous other home church leaders. Conrad also completed his M.A. and teaches Xenos' Leadership Training Class. Conrad and his wife Hilary have two children.
Ryan Lowery - Elder & Senior Sphere Leader
Ryan oversees all of Adult Ministry in Xenos. Ryan grew up in Columbus, graduated with a B.A. in history from Ohio State, and received a masters from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Ryan came to Christ through Xenos' high school ministry in 1994, and has been learning about God and trying to grow with Him ever since. He and his wife Jess have two children and live in Westerville where they lead a home group. Ryan spends most of his time working with his sphere's home group leaders, preparing classes and teaching at adult Central Teachings on Sundays.
Bret McCallum - Elder & Senior Sphere Leader
Bret graduated from the Ohio State University. He has been married to Gloria McCallum since 2006 and has two sons. He has been a leader for a high school home churches since July 2004 and has been a home church leader in the Xenos college ministry since 2005. Bret has planted several student groups during his ministry that have gone on to plant their own groups.
Kate Mizelle - Senior Sphere Leader
Kate serves as a sphere leader over a combined high school, college, and adult sphere. Before coming on staff for Xenos, Kate studied microbiology at OSU and she is finishing up an M.A. in theological studies from Trinity Evangelical and Divinity School. Kate has worked as a home church coach in the high school and college ministries and now oversees in adult ministry too. She also teaches classes in theology and apologetics. Kate and her husband Tommy have been married since 2015 and lead a home church together.
Scott Risley - Elder & Senior Sphere Leader
Scott has been part of the college ministry since 1996. He married his wife Chris in 2003 and they have two children. Before coming on staff as a sphere leader with the college group Scott studied computer science engineering at OSU and worked for several years in software consulting. He also earned an M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Scott serves as an elder, oversees a sphere of college and high school home groups, teaches one of the college central teachings and also teaches a number of different classes at Xenos.
James Rochford - Elder & Senior Sphere Leader
Since 2012 James has served as a Senior Sphere Leader in the Xenos college ministry. He teaches classes in theology and apologetics as well as weekly central teachings. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with a Masters in Theological Studies. He is also the author of Evidence Unseen and Endless Hope or Hopeless End. He and his wife Duyen have two children.
John Ross - Senior Sphere Leader
John graduated from the Ohio State University in 2004. He worked as a journalist for publications such as Columbus Alive & Columbus Monthly until 2013. He has a Masters from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is married to Caitlin and they are expecting their 2nd daughter soon. He has been a home church leader in the college ministry since 2012. He has led in the HS ministry and planted numerous student groups. John teaches our core leadership training class for college students as well an other workshops and for students and adults. He is a co-sphere leader for a sphere of over 1000 people.
Brian Runk - Elder & Senior Sphere Leader
Brian has been the junior high director for 7 years. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Philosophy. He has coached adult groups for several years and will be co-leading a sphere in the Adult Ministry in 2019. He teaches classes at Xenos and regularly subs as a Central Teaching teacher. He and his wife Amanda have three children.
Mike Sullivan - Senior Sphere Leader
Mike teaches our adult central teachings and classes and works with adult home group leaders. Prior to serving in this role, Mike helped to launch Renegade, a Xenos ministry serving low-income youth. Mike earned an M.Ed. in Math Education from Ohio State and has an M.A. in Christian Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He has lived in Columbus most of his life and began attending Xenos in 1982. He and his wife Edith have been married for 28 years and have two children.
Mike Woods - Senior Sphere Leader
Mike spends most of his time coaching and training adult home groups. Mike grew up in the Columbus area, graduated with a B.A. in International Studies from the Ohio State University and is finishing his M.A. in Theological Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He came to faith in Christ through Xenos in 1983. He and his wife Laurel have been married for 30 years and have have raised two children. Mike and Laurel served together as missionaries and have over 3 decades of experience leading home groups.
Steve Bauer - Operations & Administration Coordinator
Steve leads the division in Xenos that provides "indirectly spiritual (i.e., business) support for the ministries of the church. He oversees our innovative budgetary and stewardship programs as well as finance & accounting, facilities and grounds across all our central Ohio locations, information services, technical and food services for meetings, legal support and our office service staff. He is the Human Resource Director for the church. Steve also serves as corporate treasurer and secretary for Xenos and for Urban Concern. He and his wife Malia have led adult home groups and are active marriage mentors.
Joe Botti - Student Ministries
Joe manages and administers the largest staffing group of the church. The ministries in his division include our children's program (Oasis), and Junior High, High School and College ministries. He also helps oversee Calumet Christian School. Still, he's not just in the office. In addition to coaching leaders of student home groups, Joe and his wife Cindy help lead in the college and high school ministries.
Keegan Hale - Pastoral Support Coordinator
Keegan oversees the Pastoral Support division, which spans several departments including Pastoral Counseling, Ministry Teams, Communications, Servant Team admin, and Adult Ministry admin. Keegan also leads and coaches groups in both college and high school ministries.
Dave Glover - Missions Division Coordinator
Dave oversees the Xenos Missions Division. He is responsible for leading the Missions team, establishing budgets both locally and internationally, visiting and equipping our Global Partners and missionaries, developing and reviewing ministry plans, evaluating new partners and missionaries, providing pastoral support, and overseeing our Domestic Ministries. Dave and his wife Tracy have been in home church leadership for over 25 years. They currently serve in the college ministry.
Pat Reeder - Equipping Division Coordinator
Pat oversees the Equipping Division, which includes our Adult Education Classes, Study Center (our church resource center and library), and our Master's Degree program. Pat brings education experience from teaching college courses at Ohio State and Kenyon College. He has a Ph.D. in Philosophy and an M.Sc. in Mathematics from OSU. With his wife Abbi, Pat helps lead a home group of college students.
