Reaching people for Christ is the number one priority of the Church. The 2005 Xenos Summer Institute will focus on the process of reaching people for Christ both here in the US. and overseas. Spend three days with Bill Hybels, George Verwer, Tom Stipe and many others, exploring how you and your church can better communicate the Gospel to people who desperately need to hear it.

Bill Hybels
Bill Hybels, founding and senior pastor of Willow Creek, is well-known for his relevant and insightful Bible-based teaching. He is the author of 17 books, including Rediscovering Church and Fit to Be Tied (both co-authored with his wife Lynne), Too Busy Not to Pray, Becoming a Contagious Christian (with Mark Mittelberg), and The God You’re Looking For. Bill received a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Trinity College. He and Lynne are the parents of two adult children.
George Verwer
George Verwer is the founder and International Coordinator of Operation Mobilisation (OM), a ministry of evangelism, discipleship training and church planting. OM reaches across the world through more than 4,000 people in more than 80 nations to make Christ known. George and his wife, Drena, live in England, and have three adult children and five grandchildren.
Tom Stipe
Tom Stipe is an accomplished leader, popular speaker and Bible teacher. As Senior Pastor of Crossroads Church of Denver, Tom maintains a regular teaching schedule and oversees the continuing operation of the church. The Bible study Tom began in his basement in 1976 grew into what is now Crossroads Church of Denver, a Calvary Chapel affiliated congregation of more than 5,000.
Joel Comiskey
Joel Comiskey is an internationally recognized cell group and cell church consultant. He has served as a missionary with the C&MA in Ecuador and is now planting a cell-based church in southern California. He has written more than a dozen books in English and Spanish, and teaches as an adjunct professor at several different seminaries. He and his wife, Celyce, have three daughters.
Gary DeLashmutt
Gary DeLashmutt is a co-founder of Xenos and a graduate of Ashland Theological Seminary. Gary regularly teaches adult education classes and Xenos’ weekly main meetings. He is the author of several books, including Loving God’s Way and Spiritual Relationships That Last. Gary and his wife, Bev, also lead a Bible study for college students. They have two children.
Jim Leffel
Jim Leffel is an elder and a teaching pastor at Xenos. Jim publishes essays on Christianity and contemporary culture, co-authored The Death of Truth, hosts our Xenos Summer Institute and speaks at university, missionary and church groups. He earned a B.A. in philosophy at The Ohio State University and an M.A. in philosophy of religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Jim and his wife, Linda, lead an adult home group and have two children.
