Xenos Christian Schools

Committed to your child's growth...
ACADEMICALLY...

Xenos Christian Schools (XCS) excel academically. In national standardized tests, XCS students’ scores are among the highest in the region.

Our Schools
Xenos Christian Schools provides traditional education programs in a grace-oriented, relational environment. Accredited by the Ohio Department of Education, we provide an exceptional, multifaceted education for students from Columbus and surrounding suburban school districts. We welcome new students to our safe, Christ-centered environment.

Our school system has three locations in Columbus, Ohio.
Calumet Christian School, founded in 1983 by Xenos Christian Fellowship, includes preschool through grade 8; Xenos Christian School, started in 1997, offers preschool through grade 5; Harambee Christian School, our urban program, opened in 1998 with full-day kindergarten, and now has classes through grade 5.

Grade-Specific Programs
XCS’ curriculum is content rich. To support classroom instruction, each school provides skilled tutors. Classrooms also have multimedia computers with supervised high-speed Internet access. Moreover, each location offers high-quality specialty instruction in music, art and physical education. Band is available in grades 5 through 8.

Preschool
Our preschool programs are certified by the State of Ohio and provide the necessary foundation to prepare students for kindergarten.

We offer two age-specific programs at Calumet and Xenos Christian School. The 3-year-old program is Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The 4-year-old program is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (and afternoons at the Xenos location).

Every preschool student needs to be 3 or 4 years old by September 30th of the current year. All preschoolers must be completely potty-trained (no assistance is required) before the school year starts.

Elementary and Middle School
XCS teachers incorporate a variety of proven methods: direct instruction, Socratic questioning to develop reasoning skills and hands-on training.

We maintain an excellent student-to-teacher ratio, ensuring an attentive and personal environment necessary to meet your child’s unique educational needs.

In language arts, we use a multi sensory approach to writing, spelling and reading.
Literature, social studies and science programs are from the Core Knowledge Sequence, developed by Dr. E.D. Hirsch. This coursework provides rich and challenging studies.

Our excellent mathematics program, as with other subjects, consistently results in above grade-level performance.

Middle school teachers for grades 6 through 8 specialize in particular subject areas, ensuring your child will receive the most knowledgeable instruction.

...AND SPIRITUALLY.

All XCS programs integrate biblical values and their practical application in life. We emphasize biblical principles without reference to church traditions. Our teachers are highly trained through the adult education ministry of Xenos Christian Fellowship.

Families of students enrolled in XCS need not attend Xenos. While XCS does not insist on agreement with Xenos’ Statement of Faith, we require parents or guardians have an understanding of it.

Preschool
Our preschool teachers are Christ-centered, and therefore can prepare children to grow in Christ’s love and in respect for others. The Scriptures are taught with hands-on Bible lessons in their small groups, and consistently applied to all their varied social settings.

Elementary
Kindergarten through grade 5 focus on the continuity of the Old and New Testament. Through exciting Bible lessons, students learn how God’s plan of salvation started in the Old Testament and is ultimately revealed in the person of Christ. Students also are challenged to practically apply their knowledge of the Bible in everyday circumstances.

Middle School
Grades 6 through 8 benefit from an age-appropriate version of Xenos Christian Fellowship’s Christian Principles curriculum. This instruction offers doctrinal as well as practical training in the Bible. Students learn basic interpretive skills resulting in the ability to study the Bible on their own.

Our Leadership
Xenos Christian Schools is part of the student ministries division of Xenos Christian Fellowship. The XCS Board oversees the development of policies, financial plans and educational programs.

Financial Aid
Financial aid to low-income families is available through the generous support of Xenos Christian Fellowship. Families attending Harambee Christian School may apply for direct subsidies from Urban Concern, a Xenos ministry.

Our goal is to equip students, both spiritually and academically, to enter public high school.
