XCS provides competency based education programs for Elementary and Middle School students in Math, and English Composition combined with Reading in one Language Arts program.

The CBE programs consist of the following elements: pupil performance objectives (PPOs) for each grade level, assessment of mastery, intervention, coordination with other programs, and program review.

Each teacher will receive a grade-level CBE critical objective list, a CBE program overview, CBE Progress Charts for each student, and the previous year's Progress Charts.
