
5430 Academic Content Standards (ACS)
5431 Formative ACS Assessment
5431.1
After teachers provide at least one instructional session on a given objective, they will give an initial assessment of mastery. Assessment methods include pertinent parts of the chapter tests, unit tests, or special paper-pencil tests made by the teacher, as well as homework, class activities, learning center records, or teacher observation.
5431.2
Teacher will record the students who achieve mastery and the intervention chosen by the teacher.
5432 Cumulative ACS Assessment
5432.1
At the beginning of the school year, the teacher receives the previous year's Progress Charts. In the Remedial Needs section of the Individual ACS Progress Chart, the teacher writes the ACS objectives from the previous year that the student had not mastered. The teacher records the student's mastery for these objectives in the same way as for the other objectives.
5433 School-wide ACS Assessments
5433.1
ACS programs and curricular subjects are assessed every 5 years with results of the annual standardized testing.
5433.2
The results from standardized tests will be used to evaluate the ACS programs.
