Discipleship in Community

We believe that discipleship is especially crucial in urban ministry. In Renegade, the goal of our discipleship is that our students understand the Bible, gain discernment, deepen their relationship with God, advance in their character, learn to love others, share their faith, and help others grow. We want to see many of our students come back and serve alongside current leaders in Renegade!

To reach these goals, Renegade leaders meet one-on-one with junior high and high school students for discipleship which involves teaching them the Bible, coaching them on how to serve others, counseling them through challenging times, and praying together. We also have a team of life coaches who help older students develop the life skills needed to succeed in society and develop their own ministry.

All Renegade students and leaders attend weekly single-sex cell groups (junior high) and co-ed home churches (high school) that provide a context for fellowship and relationship building. We believe that deep and lasting spiritual transformation happens only in Christian community (Rom. 12:3-21; 1 Cor. 12:4-31; Eph. 4:11-16).
