Short-Term Mission Trip Going to Cambodia

So, you're interested in going on a short term mission trip! We are offering one trip in 2008 to Cambodia, tentatively scheduled for August 8-23. Monday, February 4, is the deadline for sending in your applications and reference forms for the Cambodia trip.

The trip will be a combination of learning about the country and people, and doing service projects. The projects include serving the poor, teaching kids, teaching potential Christian workers and working with conversational English.

Together we will come up with fund-raisers to help cover our expenses. You will need to cover the cost of shots, passports and a $100 deposit. Applicants working full-time may be asked to contribute one-third to one-half of their costs.

Class: We are offering the 3 week class, Effective Short Term Teams for three Saturdays beginning Feb 23. We highly encourage all who may want to go on a short term trip to complete this class. We anticipate many more applicants than available spots. You may be selected as a team member, an alternate, or not selected. Taking the class will help you if you reapply for future trips.

Preparing to Go: From February until departure, we ask team members to participate in fund-raisers, write letters to non-Xenos family and friends, attend periodic team meetings, and attend a one day team building retreat. We believe it is a privilege to go on a short term trip, and therefore we will maintain a high moral standard for participants. If at any time before or during the trip a team member has a significant moral failure, they will be removed from the team.
