Taiwan

The Taiwan Team

Located off the coast of China, Taiwan is home to over 16,000 registered temples - the most temples per capita of any country in the world.  Among the upper class of the island, a number of Christian churches have been established.

However, amongst the vast majority of the population, the working class, less than .5% have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Why have so few in the majority population been reached? Class and social distinctions, “Christianese” culture and spiritual oppression have combined to form large barriers to the spread of the Gospel to this unreached people group.

Meet the Team

Two couples from XCF have become church planters among the working class population of Taiwan. Based in two different cities, and partnering with many church planting families from other organizations, these couples work to make the love of Christ and His church culturally relevant to the Taiwanese. By training national believers, developing gospel materials that speak to the working class, and reaching out to the people themselves, the team members work to be effective ambassadors for Christ within the culture.class, less than one-half of one percent know Jesus Christ.

The Xenos team is comprised of Seann and Amy and their two daughters, Tim and Jennifer and their two children, along with Dale and Polly who provide adminstrative and pastoral care support.

The team hopes to reach many who are mired in folk and traditional Chinese religion. Their goal of seeing the Taiwanese freed from the slavery of ancestor worship and the fear of capricious "house gods" can only be accomplished if others are willing to be in the yoke with them.
