Peers

  • Do they communicate openly, honestly?
  • Are they satisfied with their sexual relationships?
  • Is there resolution of past family issues?
  • Do they value each other's opinions? Temperment? Gifting?
  • Do they actively encourage/affirm each other?
  • Do they pary together?
  • Do they bear with each other's annoying behaviors?
  • Are there control issues? Anger outbursts?
  • Do they agree on time management?
  • Do they agree on how money is used?
  • Do either have inreasonable expectations?
  • What is their relationship with mom? Dad?
  • What is their relationships with the in-laws?
  • Do they agree on how to raise children?
  • Do they enjoy time together?
  • Do they have good peer relationships? Short-term? Long-term?
  • Do they have any unresolved relational issues?
  • Is there codependency?
  • Is there man-pleasing?

Character

Ministry

  • Have they been tested in trials and temptations?
  • How have they handled suffering, rejection, disappointment?
  • Do they have a value and appreciation for conflict? Do they know how to resolve differences? Do they avoid problems, or are they argumentative? Defensive? Insensitive? Withdrawn?
  • Are they guided by Christian values, or does the world influence them more with regard to money, recereation, etc.?
  • Do they use maipulation or coercion to win theur way?
  • Do they have an attitude of contentment and gratitude?
  • Do they have an understanding of Romans 6,7,8?
  • Do they understand the difference between the law of sin, walking in the flesh, and walking in the Spirit?
  • Are they able to obey authority?
  • Have they disciplined others? What is their track record?
  • Where are they in the continuum of sanctification, i.e...

    • self-focused vs. other-centered

      selfish lifestyle vs. loving servant

      temporal view vs. eternal perspective

  • What has been their active ministry in general?
  • How do they view their work?
  • Have they experienced failure in ministry?
  • Do they recognize problems?
  • Can they work as a team with others?
  • Do they communicate their discernment?
  • DO they hold back because of any fear?
  • Do they practice their gifting in the home group and/or other ministry environment?
