What is a PlayGroup?
The mission of the PlayGroup Network is to share the love of Christ with
others in our neighborhoods through play groups.
A play group is a small gathering of stay-at-home parents and their pre-school
aged children, who get together on a regular basis.
Most play groups meet on weekday mornings and are typically comprised
of children (pre-school aged and younger) and their stay-at-home parent(s).
A play group's structure will vary from group to group, depending upon
the people involved.
Regardless of the structure, play group gatherings provide an opportunity
for parents to share and receive friendship and support, and have a great
time together! Relationships that may be further developed beyond the
play group are established at these get-togethers. Ultimately, play groups
are a great environment for developing and nurturing lasting friendships.
- Each play group has its own character dependent upon the individuals
involved.
- They may meet weekly or bi-monthly in homes, at parks or they do other
activities (i.e. go to the zoo, McDonalds, swimming, etc.).
- What will you do? Have snacks and coffee, enjoyable conversation,
discuss books on parenting, marriage, or other topics of interest. The
children also make friends and learn to play with one another.
