Then what happened….

I.                   Fall of mankind

Goal = convince them of the depravity of mankind and that they need a savior

A.                 Adam and Eve

B.                 Cain and Able

C.                 Modern man

1.             Warfare

2.             Selfishness --enough food but still starving people

D.                 God's plan

1.             Consequences, but God still preserves our lives (Adam/Eve and Cain)

2.             There is a savior

3.             Trust in Him

II.                Noah

Goal = Share with non-Christian friends

A.                 Story

B.                 Compare with the judgment in the End times

1.             It will be like the times of Noah, eating drinking, etc. Luke 17…..

2.             God preserves all believers from impending judgment

3.             God can preserve you from the end times madness

C.                 Application

1.             Share God with your friends, just like Noah did.

a)                  Use the new testament passage 2 Peter 2;5

 

III.             Abraham: Faith--

Goal = convince audience to take steps in faith

A.                 leaving his own country

B.                 that he's have a son

C.                 Isaac

D.                 Application

1.             Take steps of faith--school, relationships, etc.  Make sure this part is relevant and practical.

IV.              Abraham: Salvation by Faith, not works

Goal = persuade that salvation is by faith, not works

A.                 Galatians

B.                 Lying yet God still counted him as saved

C.                 Covenant

D.                 Abraham was counted righteous by God in Gen 12 or 15, then he lied like crazy--twice.  Then 20 years later, Isaac was born, then 12 years later, Isaac was sacrificed.  Paul makes the point that Abe was saved when he believed God back in Gen 12 or 15, but it took 30 years for him to work out that salvation in a fully committed to God life.

V.                 Abraham: Substitutionary

Goal = Show how great God's plan is.  Convince Non Christians to ask for Christ's substitutionary death to pay for their sins.

A.                 Isaac and the ram

B.                 Christ on the cross

C.                 Sacrificial system

VI.              Joseph

Goal = convince audience of God's loving sovereignty.  God never divorces his sovereignty from his loving paternity.

A.                 Tell the story

B.                 Joseph did not get bitter, but trusted in God's loving sovereignty.

C.                 God brought good out of it

1.             Taught the brother a lesson

2.             Saved the Jewish nation
