Service Projects

We want our students to see needs beyond themselves—see the world from God's point of view. Cleaning neighborhood parks, ringing the bell for The Salvation Army, serving the elderly at nursing homes, giving food to the Food Bank, or even working at the Mid Ohio Food Bank, the students can learn what Jesus was talking about when he spoke about serving,

"And if you know these things, blessed are you if you do them." John 13:17. ©NIV

Learning to serve people, because God served us can be an abstract concept, but when the students can serve in obedience to God and find that God will empower them to do great things, God will become real in their lives and they will hunger for the things of God.

Things we have done...

  • Byron and these ten guys picked up trash in Glen Echo Ravine and along Silver Drive near Crew Stadium.

Cleaned Columbus and Westerville city parks, removing trash and doing landscaping. If you schedule with the appropriate city department they may arrange the additional trash pick up.
  • Cleaning the ravines near Calumet and Xenos Schools.
  • Students rang the bells and collected donations for The Salvation Army.
  • Every other year, we take students on a missions trip to depressed areas of Appalachia. We plan and run a Vacation Bible School under the guidance of regional mission agencies (AIM and Confrontation Point.) We have also fixed roofs ,porches and painted homes.
  • Cell Group activities. Collecting food for the local Food Bank.
  • Cell groups have gone to Nursing Homes.
  • Taking 10-15 students to the Mid Ohio Food Bank on a Saturday to sort and stack food.
