2002 Mission Trip

38 students and a half dozen adults prepare to go on the 2002 mission's
trip by taking the missions' class.
|
This year we will be sending two groups out. Both groups will focus on
running a Vacation Bible School. Each group will be working with a different
agency: Confrontation Point
and Adventures In Missions. It
is likely that both groups will visit nursing homes, go door to door telling
people about Jesus Christ, do some service projects as well as develop
and run a Vacation Bible School.
In past years, the teams would have a Bible study each evening to prepare
them for the spiritual opportunities that God will present to them the
next day. Thirty-eight seventh and eighth graders, and eight to ten adults
are beginning preparations for this week long trip. They will be leaving
Columbus on June 14th and returning on the 22nd.
These trips prove to be very eye opening to the students that go. They
increase the student's gratitude and give them a greater appreciation
of the need that exists in other parts of the world. Second, it shows
them how God will work through them to love other people. You can view
pictures from our last mission's trip.
Our Jr Hi does a mission's trip every two years (alternating with the
Senior High.) This year's 6th graders will be able to go when they are
in 8th grade.
