Workshop
on Personal Finance
Class Format
The class is five weeks long and will be in a workshop format. A workbook
will be provided to all attendees. During the last session, four to five counselors
from the finance ministry will be available to review budgets and answer questions.
Guess speakers from the investment and insurance industry will provide materials
and speak on those topics. Because this is a workshop format space will be
limited to 30-35 people.
Course Objectives
To present Biblical
truths on personal financial issues
To provide assistance in applying the Biblical truths in the area of personal
finance in the areas of giving, savings for future needs and debt.
To provide tools to assist the attendee in setting-up and sticking with a
budget, liquidate consumer debt and control future consumption.
To gain a basic understanding of insurance and investment issues
Requirements
Readings from selected chapters in Ron Blue's book, Master Your Money,
1991
Completion of a budget and debt liquidation schedule
Participation in atleast four out of five classes
Pay the fee for the class
Bring a Bible, sharp pencil, and a BIG eraser
