Jim Leffel Crossroads Project Speaker
Hello! I'm Jim Leffel. I am
the director of The Crossroads Project, an apologetics ministry
designed to equip Christians to understand and effectively communicate
to our postmodern culture. I lead a team of scholars, researchers
and experienced Christian workers who are
deeply
involved in providing critical and biblical analysis to contemporary
secular thought.
I am available to speak on the following topics:
The
Death of Truth:
Why Has Culture Abandoned Truth and Reason?
"Reality Isnt What It Used To Be" proclaims one
of todays popular books. This lecture traces the ironic revolt
against truth in historys most advanced civilization.
Special attention is given to
the outworkings of the rejection of truth and reason from the university
campus to the local church. It identifies the mindset of the new
generation and current challenges for effective Christian ministry.
-- A helpful and informative introduction to the thinking that
is revolutionizing both education and popular culture. A more scholarly
adaptation of this lecture is also available, depending on the host
groups needs.
Politically
Incorrect Salvation
The two demands of "politically correct" society are openness
and tolerance. What should Christians do when the objective
claims of the gospel are considered naive, irrelevant and dangerous?
This lecture explains the current "spirit of the age"
and provides tools for reaching a culture that has abandoned truth.
Particular focus is given to the claim that all religions are equally
legitimate paths to God.
-- An excellent follow up to the lecture, "The Death of
Truth."
Held
Captive or Taking Captive: Being An Effective Christian on Campus
The Bible teaches that Christians will either be held captive to
secular thought (Col. 2:8) or take these ideas captive (2 Cor. 10:5).
But how can Christian students understand and critically interact
with the underlying secular assumptions in the university classroom?
This lecture by a Christian who teaches in a secular college will
give valuable insights into how to "get to the bottom"
of the world view assumed by professors and textbooks, and provide
practical ways to be an effective witness for Christ in the classroom.
