Café makes CT plant a reality
enhanced Main Campus ministry space is nearing completion

The Café addition at Main Campus will meet several needs for the future. First of all the meeting space will allow for growth of adult central teachings. Rather than build a larger, extremely costly auditorium we decided to build smaller and have simultaneous central teachings. The Café will provide a more intimate atmosphere that will be conducive to interaction and discussion. Involvement and interaction has always been a hallmark of Xenos and the Café will help promote that in CTs.
The Café will also provide a great place to hang out with friends after meetings. People often leave right after meetings in foul weather months and we want people to feel comfortable staying on campus for fellowship. The Café will have a children's play area and extensive seating areas that will include couches and TVs. It will also have a large kitchen so that we can expand the menu.
Like other Xenos facilities, this area will be used for other events like weddings, community meetings, classes, XSI, Xenos Schools , etc. Our facilities are well used and we know this one will be also.
We look forward to seeing the Café completed and ready for use in March 2006. We remain on budget at $2.2 million, including finishes and furnishings.
café features
As we planned from the start, this space will be unlike any other area in the building. Here are just a few exciting features we'll be able to make use of.
-
A café environment. Throughout the facility we'll feature settings much like retail coffee houses, but with flexibility to have large meetings and several smaller gathering spaces.
Unlike the current main auditorium, the new space will have sofas and other seating, TVs, and area lighting. This will provide a much more relaxed look and feel.
-
Full kitchen will contain ovens, a griddle and space for other food preparation equipment. Work space will be outstanding, with open aisles and ample storage.
-
Young children's play area will be visible through a glass viewing wall in the auditorium. This space will include play structures and soft flooring.
-
Open space upstairs for older children's area and classes. The flexible plan will allow for future children's program growth and for adult use.
-
Outdoor seating areas will include a courtyard next to the existing main auditorium windows and direct access to our deck and patio from the Café. Another area northwest of the deck will provide a natural setting.
-
More parking northwest of the new building will provide easy access.
We're excited to experience how God will use this new facility to share His love and truth.
