2 Corinthians
1:1-10 "The God of All Comfort"
What is God’s comfort, and what do we need to do to experience it? This passage provides us with some key insights into this important issue.

1:12-2:4 "A Dangerous Misunderstanding"
Learn how Paul’s explanation of his change in travel plans provides insight into how we can have secure relationships with God and one another.

2:4-11 "Requisites For Relational Closeness"
What do we need in order to have lasting close relationships? Paul’s conflict with the Corinthian Christians illustrates biblical principles you need to know.

2:14-17 "God’s Triumph in Christ"
Paul was an "aroma of Christ" that had polarizing impact on those with whom he interacted. Learn the key features of this "aromatic" Christian life.

3:6-18 "Two Ways of Relating to God"
Jesus came to inaugurate a radically new way of relating to God. Unfortunately, most people still think God wants us to relate to him in the old way. This passage will teach you the difference.

4:7-18 "Treasure in Earthen Vessels"
The "life out of death" principle applies not only to agriculture and Jesus’ death for our sins. It is also integral to spiritual growth and effective Christian ministry.

4:17-5:11 "Focusing on Eternal Things"
What does it mean to have an eternal perspective? Unless we have a clear understanding of the next life, our motivation and impact for Christ in this life will suffer.

5:14-21 "Three Aspects of New Life in Christ"
Learn how the grace of God can transform your motivation, the way you evaluate others and your purpose for living.

6:1-6 "Effective Ambassadors"
We are reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:17--coming to Christ is the most important decision we can ever make because it changes our lives in the most fundamental ways.

6:11-7:2 "Spiritually Compromised Relationships"
What does it mean to "come out and be separate from the world?" Some Christians wrongly use this passage to advocate withdrawal from culture, but others ignore Paul’s warning religious syncretism and moral compromise.

8:1-15 "Principles of Christian Financial Giving: Part #1"
Paul devotes 20% of this letter to instruction on these principles. This is because unless Christians ground their financial giving in biblical convictions, they don’t become consistent, sacrificial givers.

8:16-9:15 "Principles of Christian Financial Giving: Part #2"
Paul devotes 20% of this letter to instruction on these principles. This is because unless Christians ground their financial giving in biblical convictions, they don’t become consistent, sacrificial givers.

10:1-11 "Spiritual Weapons for Spiritual Warfare"
This teaching focuses on the importance of a mind renewed by truth: inputting biblical truth, monitoring your thought-life and replacing lies with truth, and acting on the truth.

10:12-18 "Right & Wrong Boasting"
Contrary to what most Christians believe and teach, some forms of boasting are necessary for your spiritual growth. Find out what they are.

11:1-21 "How to Fall Prey to Spiritual Deception"
The sarcastic tone in this passage is the key to its interpretation: Avoid whatever Paul’s praises the Corinthians for, and pursue whatever he apologizes for.

12:1-10 "An Open Secret"
Isn’t it more spiritual to experience visions, healings, and other dramatic answers to prayer? Why was Paul so reluctant to talk about his visions, and so quick to boast about his unanswered prayers?

13:5 "Self-Examination"
When is it harmful to engage in self-examination? When is it important to do so? Survey Paul’s teaching on this subject from 1 & 2 Corinthians.
