Introduction to Christian Servanthood 2 is the second half of our specialized training for would-be servant team members. Students must be discipling individuals in their home group and must have completed the Christian Principles series.

2		Church Authority	Mark 10:40-45** Heb. 13:17*	Notebook check next week. Read summaries of three secular counseling models. Evaluate the three models in light of the biblical perspective of the nature of man. Write two positive contributions and two criticisms of each model in light of the biblical view of man.
3		Introduction to Pastoral Counseling		Study for Quiz — Week 1-3 materials (note section - "Key Points to Know for Exam" at the end of each week's notes.
4	X	Love Therapy		Read Schein excerpt and be ready to discuss in class. Study "do tell" and "don't tell" passages and try to harmonize.

6		Common Lay Counseling Issues		Study for Quiz - Week 4-6 materials; Read Adams excerpt on the man in an institution. Do you agree that all "mental illness" is just sinful choices? If not, what biblical basis is there for mental illness? Meet in MAIN AUDITORIUM next week
7	X	Recognizing Mental Illness		Study passages related to conflict/unity and distill the principles in each.
