Course objectives:
1. To recognize the unifying theme of the Old Testament.
2. To understand the history and literature of the Old Testament.
3. To inspire a passion for studying the Old Testament.
Requirements:
1. Reading assignments will be given each week from the Old Testament. The assignments familiarize students with the variety of biblical literature and the thematic development of the plan of salvation in the Old Testament. For each book (or section of book) read, students write chapter titles, which summarize the major theme of each chapter. Chapter summaries are to be turned in each week. They account for 50% of the final grade.
2. A final test will be given on the sixth week. A review sheet will be given on the fourth week. The test will cover readings and class presentations. The test is worth 50% of the final grade.
