The purpose for any ministry is to constructively serve. The purpose for the Ministry Assessment Process is to help ministry teams serve constructively by helping them determine: who they can serve; decide they can best use their skills, abilities and resources; and track their progress to improve the effectiveness of the team. This is based on the principles stated in Prov. 24:3-6, Prov. 14:8, Luke 14:28,32 and in I Corinthians 9:26 where the Apostle Paul emphasizes purposeful service:
Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way as not beating the air."

Additionally, a successful ministry team regularly reports its progress so that others can be gratified by the accomplishment of God's work and be encouraged to participate to God's greater glory.
