The Promises of God
“Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have,
for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” – Hebrews 10:23
“His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.” – 2 Peter 1:3-8
Promises for a Christian who is feeling defeated by sin and wondering if God could accept someone who has so many problems.
Nothing will ever separate you from God’s love:
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38,39
God will sanctify you entirely:
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:23,24
God will continue to provide you with a way of escape in every tempting situation you face:
“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13
God remains faithful to you:
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful; for He cannot deny Himself.” – 2 Timothy 2:13
God is with you, wherever you are:
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.” – Psalm 139:7, 8
