Before people can join the Xenos Servant Team, they must successfully complete Introduction to the Bible, Christian Growth and Christian Ministry 1-3. They must also commit to take Christian Leadership 1-3 in a reasonable amount of time. These are graded classes with assigned homework Grades are based on homework and in some cases quizzes, projects, and a final exam. Introduction to the Bible and Christian Growth are prerequisites for the Christian Ministry courses, which can be taken in any order. Completing Christian Ministry 1-3 is a prerequisite for Christian Leadership 1&2. Christian Leadership 1&2 can also be taken in any order. |
Introduction to the Bible - This course gives students a broad overview the Bible and the tools they need to read, understand, and obey the word of God. (5 two-hour sessions) Christian Growth - Christian Growth is an in-depth study of how Christians mature spiritually in the context of Christian community. Textbooks are Dennis McCallum’s book Walking in Victory and Loving God’s Way, by Gary DeLashmutt. (9 three-hour sessions) Christian Ministry 1, 2 & 3 - These courses cover basic theology, the nature of salvation, predictive prophecy, missions, evangelism, Bible study methods, the will of God, and financial stewardship. (27 three-hour sessions) Christian Ministry 1, 2 & 3 LIGHT - These classes are designed to help adult students with busy schedules. CML will allow students to complete the Christian Ministry series in 17 weeks instead of 27. Topics include basic theology, the nature of salvation, missions, evangelism, Bible study methods, the will of God, and financial stewardship. Christian Leadership 1 - A class for home group leaders that covers ecclesiology and Xenos' philosophy of ministry, along with practical theology areas like evangelism, discipleship, church discipline and the exercise and limitations of church authority. This course is divided into two modules - Ecclesiology 1 (6 three-hour sessions) and Ecclesiology 2 (5 three-hour sessions). Christian Leadership 2 - This course provides home group leaders with principles related to pastoral counseling to prepare them for situations they are likely to face in their ministry. Topics include choosing a biblical model for counseling others, resolving conflicts, overcoming substance abuse, recognizing emotional disorders and recovering from sexual damage (6 three-hour sessions) Christian Leadership 3 - This course teaches leadership skills including motivating others in grace, cooperation with the other leaders in the church, and ministry planning. Students keep all work in a notebook which is turned in and graded at the end of the course. (10 three-hour sessions) Leadership Training Class (Campus) - A year long course for students in the college ministry that covers the content in Christian Growth, Christian Ministry 1-3, and Christian Leadership 1. Christian Growth replaces Christian Principles Unit 2 |
