Ministry Roles at Xenos

During their accreditation process, Ministry teams at Xenos define ministry roles within their teams. They can also add to their list of roles at any later time they find necessary. A ministry role is a defined set of responsibilities within a group's ministry. Most contain several basic components:

Ministry Roles are usually volunteer. Xenos has over 2000 roles, many of which are occupied by a number of people at once. For example, the single role of "Evangelist" in Conversation and Cuisine is occupied by several scores of people at any given time.

Ministry role descriptions are usually written up in a one or two-page format.

The ministry role descriptions are also sent to the ministry networking department, where they can be matched to people graduating from the ministry networking seminar. There, they are also entered into the ministry database so people can search by type of work, level of qualifications or ability and so on.

Acceptance of individuals into ministry roles is the prerogative of the team leaders. In addition to the requirements listed in the description, leaders may require interviews and trial periods before final acceptance of an individual into a given role. Of course some roles are relatively less demanding, and people can be placed "sight unseen."
