ACCREDITING ADVISOR'S HANDBOOK
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Purpose:
To help guide applicants in starting new ministries through the accreditation process.
Provide a specific direction to the service of proposed ministry team.
Job Description:
- Reports to: Network Director
- Responsibilities:
- guiding an applicant through the New Ministry Accreditation process
- interpreting the Ministry Team Application Worksheet to the applicant
- approving the Ministry Team Application Worksheet before sending it on
Consultation Procedures:
Member Initiates Idea
- Be excited, positive and enthusiastic about meeting to talk about the idea.
- Set up a time to get together, mark it in your calendar
- Call the MNW Secretary to mark the schedule book
Consultation #1
- The purpose of this consultation is to explain the New Ministry Accreditation process.
The Accrediting Advisor needs to review the application form with the applicant and answer
any questions regarding the accreditation process.
- - call the applicant the day before your scheduled consultation to confirm the
appointment
- - pray before consultation for wisdom, discernment and sensitivity to the applicant's
burden for the ministry
- - meet with applicant to explain the New Ministry Qualification Process, determine
whether their idea is concrete enough to fill out New Ministry Application Form. If so,
give them a "New Ministry" notebook
- - review the Ministry Application Worksheet step by step with the applicant
- - review the process of application (micro-process chart)
- - give copy of Ministry Application Worksheet and micro-process chart
- - explain reason for process -- XCF std = Sound Theol & leadership;
- - finish with rationale for next step;
- - have Secretary (or you) schedule 2nd Consultation using same Schedule Book
- - call the Secretary to inform about completion of consultation
Consultation #2
- The purpose of this consultation is to review the application and answer any questions
of the applicants. The consultant is responsible for determining whether the application
should be forwarded to the Department Manager Consultant.
- make sure you have the applicant's worksheet 3 days before the scheduled consultation
- review the applicant's work before your scheduled consultation
- call the applicant the day before your scheduled consultation to confirm appointment and
remind to bring in the application
- pray before consultation for wisdom, discernment and sensitivity to the applicant's
burden for the ministry
- go over any questions the applicant might have concerning the New Ministry Qualification
Process
- review the application to make sure it is complete
- explain the process of the next step
- if qualify, on the Appointment card, fill out the name of the Department Manager
Consultant along with the phone number so the applicant can schedule the appointment.
- if applicant does not qualify, take the notebook from the applicant and give it to the
Ministry NetWorking Director
- call the Secretary to inform about completion of consultation and whether or not they
qualified
Consultation #3
- The purpose of this consultation is to make sure the changes made by the Department
Manager Consultant does not conflict with getting the ministry accredited. The consultant
will also be responsible for any questions the Equipping Director or Elders might have for
not approving a ministry. Could be liaison between ministry applicant and the Equipping
Director or the Elders.
- review changes made by Department Manager Consultant and determine whether application
is complete.
- determine with Equipping Director whether application is acceptable
