Welcome to the Xenos Ministry Accrediting Services. As you advance through the accrediting process, it is likely you'll have certain questions about our services. We hope to anticipate a few of the more common ones to help you through the process.
When a ministry is accredited, Xenos is committed to providing financial, personnel, strategic, equipping, and publishing resources for the development and success of that ministry. The Ministry Accrediting Process requires you to think through short-term and long-term goals as well as start-up and on-going needs. It can be tough to think through all these things. Advisors, who have experience and expertise, are provided to help your Ministry Team become accredited. When you put these ingredients together you have a process that is detailed and thorough and geared to help your ministry succeed.
The role of the Accrediting Advisor is to act as an advocate and counselor. The Accrediting Advisor will raise important questions which will help you produce the most complete ministry plan. The Accrediting Advisors do not decide whether a ministry should be accredited; their role is to make constructive recommendations.
During the first consultation, your advisor will describe the accrediting process to you. The Accrediting Application Notebook is designed to guide you in this process, step by step. Sometimes the notebook will be in your hands to be revised according to the suggestions of the most recent consultation. You will also be giving the notebook, with your revisions, to the next advisor several days before your next meeting. This allows them time to review it and give consideration as to how best to direct you. Please remember, this notebook is the property of Xenos Christian Fellowship. We will need to retain the completed notebook as a part of our records for this ministry. You should make copies of any work in the notebook that you will need later.
You're right! There are schedules for at least two people to consider for every consultation. All of the advisors do consultations in addition to their ongoing ministries. Each of them has been required to provide at least one one-hour slot per week, so it may be necessary for you to adjust your schedule accordingly. If you are considering more than one person to lead this ministry, you should identify one person as the point person or senior leader. The Elders will be reviewing all potential leaders. This person should be present for the rest of the consultations. The accrediting process will have over a dozen ministries being considered at any one time, so please make every effort to keep your appointments without rescheduling. For your convenience, appointment cards are provided in the notebook for each consultation. As you call and schedule each consultation, please fill in the date and time.
The accrediting process requires a significant investment of time by the Ministry NetWorking Department, accrediting advisors, management team, and elders. Many materials and computer operations are needed to support this process. The $50.00 (non-refundable) fee only partially covers the cost of processing your ministry application. Also, the fee is not charged until after the second consultation so that you can fully understand the requirements of the accrediting process before paying. If, after the second consultation, you decide not to pursue accrediting, you will not be asked to pay a fee. If you are unable to afford the $50.00, you can apply for assistance through the Ministry NetWorking Department. We will try to offset some of these costs.
Only the elders or the applicant can make the final decision to defer a ministry's accreditation. We are using the term deferred because you can reapply at a later date if you are still interested and have satisfied any areas of concern. There are several points at which an advisor may recommend that you defer accreditation. If you agree to defer then the accreditation process ends until you should decide to reapply. If your advisor recommends deferment and you decide to go ahead with the process, we will do everything we can to assist you.
