The Bible describes ministry as an indispensable component of our walk with God and a means to true fulfillment. In order to carry out these functions, God has given spiritual gifts to every Christian. These gifts are to be used with other members of the body of Christ for the purpose of building the church. Through the faithful exercise of your gifting, you can experience fulfillment through carrying out your part of God's purpose in the church and the world.
Ministry NetWorking offers Christians biblical instruction regarding God's perspective on service and gifting. Ministry NetWorking also provides an assessment process to help you understand what your gifts may be, and an individual consultation which should direct you toward a variety of ministry opportunities in Xenos Christian Fellowship. This service is available to any Christian who attends Xenos Christian Fellowship. If you have not yet had the opportunity to benefit from the beginning classes offered to help establish your faith (Christian Principles Class or Theology 1, 2, 3 series), we urge additional involvement in a Grounding Group to meet your needs for Christian fellowship and learning. This discipleship program is essential in developing the understanding necessary to effectively serve in many of our Fellowship's Ministries.
Ministry NetWorking is a three-phase process that includes Instruction (Christian Principles and Servanthood courses) and Consultation (review of your self-assessment during Seminar resulting in the selection of three ministry alternatives that reflect your interests and gifting). These two steps lead to the last--Ministry.
We are looking forward to working with you to accomplish the goals God has set before us.
Have you seen areas of need where you believe the church should get involved, yet don't know who to talk with about your idea? Or are you presently involved in a ministry that you envision being more effective if it received enhanced equipping, staffing, or recognition? Xenos Christian Fellowship is committed to helping Christians develop new ministry areas and enhance existing ones.
The ministries offered by Xenos Christian Fellowship make a statement to our community and beyond. Therefore, we need a sound theological and strategic basis for every ministry we support. Because your ideas and burdens are important, the Ministry NetWorking Department offers extensive resources for ministry development so that every ministry can perform at its best.
One of the resources we offer is the Ministry Accrediting Service which gives you personal consultation from workers with decades of experience and expertise in designing new ministries and enhancing existing ones. By becoming a Xenos accredited Ministry Team, you will have access to financial support, ministerial oversight and training, liability protection, advertising services, and personnel resources.
If you are considering a new ministry area or would like more information on accrediting an existing ministry, please contact Jim Leffel, Equipping Division Coordinator at 823-6500 ext.127 from 9:00 am - 5:00 PM.
The ministry you are currently serving or leading is probably restricted to its own resources for finding competent Christian workers. The Ministry NetWorking Department offers an immense resource base. The majority of the "graduates" of our Seminar and Consultation process will be choosing ministry opportunities offered from the pool of ministries that are part of the Ministry Accrediting Services.
It is likely that your present ministry has needs that can be met by Christian workers who may have no route to your ministry other than through Ministry NetWorking.
Welcome to the new ministry advisory group. We are here to help you think through your ministry application, both by yourself and in consultation with other departments. Our group will not be deciding whether your ministry becomes a part of the NetWorking process in Xenos at this time. We are only here to advise you and supply you with information about how the organization works. When we feel that your application is in order and complete, we will forward it to the leadership of the church for consideration. We are really excited about the chance to help you with your ministry aspirations!
Following this guide is your Ministry Team Application Worksheet. You should find that application form now, before trying to read this guide. In your first meeting with us (Consultation #1 on the process diagram), we went over the worksheet, but this guide may help you further as you fill it out. If you still have points you don't understand, just jot your question on the worksheet and bring it in with you to the next meeting. There is plenty of time to get all the answers right, so don't worry about making mistakes on the sheet.
For each question, look at the worksheet, and if you need more explanation, look at the elaboration given here under the same number.
We want to thank you for your interest in developing and leading a new Ministry Team. It is appropriate that you know in advance that part of this process includes assessing whether or not you might qualify as a Ministry Team Leader (which is a deacon-level position). The Bible offers certain requirements for Deacons, such as those found in 1 Timothy 3. When we review the various biblical passages on the qualifications of a leader, it is important to note that approximately two-thirds of them are character qualifications and one-third functional qualifications (how well can you do the job). Therefore, the elders will take your character development as well as ministry experience into consideration when making this decision. This has always been the case for Home Church and Small Group leadership as well. Please fill out this fact sheet, which will receive an initial review from the elders.
This sheet is for quick reference. It is bound in with the application form, the guide and other progress sheets.
