3161 Hours for Full-time Teachers

3161.1
Each teacher shall receive a duty-free lunch period. At their option, teachers are free to leave the school grounds during their lunch period.

3161.2
Each full-time teacher, 24 contact hours in elementary 22 in middle school, will receive the indicated planning time for instructional planning, evaluations, and conferences. Planning time is calculated based on the percent a teacher is employed. A teacher working half-time in elementary school, (12 hours), receives 5.5 hours of planning time.

3162 Hours for Full-time Classified Staff

3162.1
Authorized rest periods shall be counted as time worked for which there shall be no deduction from wages.

3162.2
The employee is allowed two daily rest periods of ten minutes each, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

3162.3
No employees working more than 6 hours a day shall be required to work for a period of more than five hours without a lunch period.
