Xenos Christian Schools Teacher Agreement
The School Board of Xenos Christian Schools has appointed ____________ as ____________ Teacher for the ________ school year. This contract "current contract" begins August ___, _____ and ends June ___, _____ depending on the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
By accepting this appointment, the teacher acknowledges the current contract is for a limited duration. All rights and privileges herein shall terminate upon the expiration date of the current contract, unless concluded earlier. The parties agree that no rights of tenure or presumption of continued employment are conferred or implied by the current contract or by a number of consecutive contracts. The parties further agree that no right to notice of renewal or non-renewal of the contract is conferred or implied.
Conditions of Employment

The teacher affirms, as part of the qualifications for this position, they know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. (John 3:3; 1 Peter 1:23)

The teacher agrees to lead a moral life consistent with the requirements for deacons as stated in 1 Timothy 3:8-12. If the teacher is not currently on the Xenos Christian Fellowship Servant Team, they must provide a signed copy of the Servant Covenant to the Superintendent.

The teacher will demonstrate a lifestyle of commitment and service to Jesus Christ. They will serve as a role model to pupils, parents and fellow faculty members in judgment, dignity and Christian living. (Colossians 3:17; Titus 2:7; 1 Thessalonians 2:12; 5:22; 4:3-8)

The teacher will strive at all times to understand, appreciate, love and serve the students. To the best of their ability, they will provide for the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional development of the students.

The teacher is expected to be actively involved in a Xenos Christian Fellowship Home Group unless negotiated in writing with the Superintendent.

The teacher accepts without reservation the Xenos Christian Fellowship Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives of Xenos Christian Schools.

The teacher agrees to abide by the procedures set forth in the Xenos Christian Fellowship Human Resource Manual and Xenos Christian Schools Faculty and Student Handbooks. The policies in the Faculty and Student Handbooks take precedent over the policies in the Human Resource Manual in cases where the two conflict. The teacher agrees to cooperate in every way with the school authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the School Board.

The teacher must provide the Superintendent with a copy of a valid Ohio teaching certificate before the first day of orientation or the current contract is void.

Proof of compliance with state and school medical requirements must be on file with the office before the start of school. This includes the result of a tuberculosis test (TB).

The teacher agrees to be present and on time for all faculty meetings. The teacher agrees to participate in all staff meetings and quarterly grade level planning meetings. Teachers agree to participate in the annual teacher-training program based on their Individual Professional Development Plan.

The teacher agrees to report to work 30 minutes before the first bell in the morning and be available 30 minutes after the last bell at the end of the day.

The teacher agrees to resolve differences using the Biblical principles outlined in Matthew 18:15-17 and Galatians 6:1.

The teacher agrees to maintain appropriate confidentiality in regards to pupil, parent and school issues.

The teacher understands and agrees to maintain a moral lifestyle according to the Biblical principles described in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5.

The teacher understands and will fulfill their obligations under state law regarding the reporting of child abuse.

Any previous agreements, whether written or oral, are fully merged into this agreement. No other agreement, statement or promise other than those contained in the current contract shall be valid or binding on either party. The current contract shall be interpreted under the laws of the state of Ohio.

The teacher will not enter into responsibilities or other employment, which will in any way conflict with their teaching assignment.

The validity of the current contract is contingent upon an adequate enrollment, which makes possible a cost-effective program.

A new teacher is given an probation period of ninety (90) days in which to prove their teaching ability to the satisfaction of the Superintendent. The teacher will be made aware of any deficiencies requiring attention. Failure to address the identified deficiencies will result in termination of the current contract.

The teacher must give the Superintendent sixty (60) days prior written notice of their intended resignation.

If the teacher resigns or is terminated during the period of service covered by the current contract, payment shall be prorated for the number of days worked. All fringe benefits end on the last day of employment.

Xenos Christian Schools is classified as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit church related organization and does not participate in the Federal Unemployment Tax Act. Therefore, upon termination of employment, regardless of the reason(s), unemployment benefits are not available.

I have read and understand the duties, responsibilities, salary and benefits and will abide with the terms and conditions of the current contract.
