3210 Inservice Education
3211 New Employee Inservice
3211.1
New full-time teachers receive inservice programs which will include information on XCS' discipline program, CBE programs, placement tests, first aid, and emergency procedures during an initial orientation program.
3211.2
All new employees, including classified employees, also receive an employee's handbook which lists all pertinent XCS policies/procedures.
3211.3
New classified employees shall receive an initial orientation during the first weeks of their employment.
3211.4
Additional information is dispersed through memos and regular staff meetings.
3212 Ongoing Inservice
3212.1
Each year all full-time teachers are required to attend an inservice program at the beginning of the school year on topics selected by the superintendent to meet the needs of the school. In addition, all certified teachers must attend the summer teacher training program.
3212.2
Each year inservice will be provided on the new textbooks and revised elementary programs.
3212.3
Additional information is dispersed through memos and regular staff meetings.
3212.4
Classified staff are required to attend inservice programs as the administrator deems appropriate.
3212.5
The staff shall have access to a professional library provided by the administrator.
3213 Staff Meetings
3213.1
The principal/superintendent will hold elementary and middle school teacher meetings with all teachers regularly. The preschool director will hold regular meetings for the preschool staff.
3213.2
The principal/administrator or preschool director will establish an agenda which would include prayer for the school, teacher concerns, policies and procedures, and specific student needs.
3213.3
All teachers and preschool staff members are required to attend unless excused by the administrator in advance of the meeting.
3213.4
The principal/superintendent will hold staff meetings including classified staff on a regular basis.
3214 Records of Inservice
3214.1
The administrator shall maintain records on major topics covered through inservice programs and employee participation in inservice programs.
