
3220 Staff Evaluation
3221 Employee Observation
3221.1
The principal/superintendent shall make at least one announced and one unannounced observation of each employee each year.
3221.2
Appointed evaluators may make announced or unannounced observations of a classroom.
3221.3
Observations may be directed toward any objective component of the assigned position selected by the superintendent.
3222 Teacher Evaluations
3222.1
The staff development coordinator will meet with all elementary and middle school teachers at least once a year to evaluate the teacher's performance. The preschool director will meet with all preschool head teachers at least once a year to evaluate their performance.
3222.2
The superintendent will meet with substitute teachers for evaluation whenever the administrator shall consider appropriate.
3222.3
Elementary and middle school teacher evaluations may include results of classroom observations, discipline records, SAT scores, and CBE results. The results of this evaluation are considered in contract renewal or continued employment.
3222.4
A summary of the evaluation is placed in the employee's personnel file.
3222.5
Certificated employees shall have the right to inspect their evaluation summary. The employee has the opportunity to make comments that will be attached to the evaluation summary provided that the comments are written and given to the superintendent within three working days after the review.
3223 Classified Staff Evaluations
3223.1
The employee's supervisor will meet with each full-time classified employee at least once a year to evaluate the employee's performance.
3223.2
The employee's supervisor will meet with each part-time classified employee after his/her initial year and then at least once every 3 years to evaluate the employee's performance.
3223.3
A summary of the evaluation is placed in the classified employee's personnel file.
3223.4
Classified employees shall have the right to inspect their evaluation summary. The employee has the opportunity to make comments that will be attached to the evaluation summary provided that the comments are written and given to the supervisor within three working days.
