Arrivals and Dismissal

Students may arrive at CCS beginning at 8:10 a.m. and wait on the porch until 8:20 a.m. A staff person supervises the students during this time. Student may not enter the building unless the staff member on supervision duty gives permission. Students may arrive at XCS/HCS beginning at 8:35 a.m. Students arriving at this time should report to the office.

Parents or designated persons are to accompany Kindergartners and preschoolers to their classrooms. At dismissal time, the parents or designated person must go to the classroom where the teacher will dismiss the students individually as their pickup person arrives.

Parents waiting with their children for the admission bell must wait in the lobbies. To assure the safety of our students, the hallways are for staff and authorized adults only during school hours. To limit the amount of noise, parents should wait until after the admission bell to view the student work in the hallways.

Except for emergencies, students cannot call home to change after school plans. Parents, however, may change plans by calling the office before 1:30 P.M. Office personnel will see that the student gets the message in time.

Students not picked up by 3:30 p.m. at CCS and 3:45 at XCS/HCS will be charged a late pickup fee.

Bus Transportation

For students living more than two miles from their school, bus transportation or financial reimbursement may be available from the public school district. Parents may contact the public school transportation officials to see if these options are available and procedures for signing up.

Applications for transportation or reimbursement from the Columbus Public School District are available in the CCS office. Dismissal for bus students is at 3:08 P.M. for CCS and 3:20 for XCS.  A Xenos Christian Schools staff member supervises the bus riders until they get on the bus.

Early Dismissals

Under no circumstance is a child released from school to anyone without the custodial parent(s) making previous arrangements with the school office. Anyone picking up a child under a special arrangement must be over 18. Parents who wish their children to be dismissed early in the day must submit a written request or make a telephone call stating the reason and asking for the release.

All persons picking up a child from school for an early dismissal must sign the student out in the office. The teacher will allow the student to leave after receiving notification from the office.  In this case, office personnel will notify the student.

Individuals must also sign out students for lunch. They should not go to the classroom but wait by the office until the class goes to the lunchroom. The following is a list of the lunch periods for each school.
