General Purpose ("Why does this position exist?"):
XCS exists to equip students academically and spiritually to become workers and leaders for Christ’s church. The teachers for Xenos Christian Schools educate and nurture students, in a safe, loving and Christ-centered environment. They work alongside the parents to teach Biblical truth and the practical application of that truth to everyday life. The preschool director provides leadership for the preschool staff to help insure the students are prepared for elementary school and that the program is consistent with the goals of XCS.

Preschool programming and development:
The preschool director assists the preschool staff with lesson planning and curriculum development. The preschool director ensures the program remains in compliance with the Ohio Department of Education. The Preschool Director oversees:
· Lesson planning and curriculum development
· Purchase materials for Preschool program
· Publish monthly newsletter
· Maintain contact with Ohio Department of Education representative |

Supervisory responsibilities:
· Supervision of Preschool staff
· Conducts annual Preschool teacher reviews
· Oversees staff in-service hours
· Plans and facilitates staff meetings |

· Relate with appropriate and respectful voice and actions to all children
· Responsible for safety and welfare of preschool children
· Provides effective and appropriate discipline |

Small Group/Circletime planning and leading:
· Provide developmentally appropriate activities
· Adequate preparation for the day's activities
· Consistent integration of spiritual concepts |

· Maintain confidentiality and tact with negative information

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
· Meets Ohio Department of Education Requirements for a Head Preschool Teacher
· Experience working with preschool age children
· Effective communication skills with parents, children and staff
· Ability to lead and administrate a Preschool program
