Title:  Middle School Director

General Purpose ("Why does this position exist?"):

 

The middle school director provides spiritual and managerial leadership for the staff and students of the middle school.  The middle school director serves as a liaison between the school and parents to help resolve issues and provide a positive learning environment for the students.

Teaching Responsibilities

·        Maintains a positive learning environment

·        Maintains regular communication with parents, students and office

·        Effectively completes required administrative duties, i.e. lesson plans, NPAC reports, LPDC documents

·        Provides objective assessment of each student with regular feedback to parents

Student Oversight:

·        Evaluation of student academic and spiritual growth

·        Development and adherence of school discipline policies

·        Coordination of specialists in order to provide guidance and evaluation of students (i.e. psychologist, tutoring, etc.)

·        Organizes and participates in special student functions

Administration

·        Schedules and conducts regular middle school staff meetings

·        Schedules and attends parent/teacher conferences

·        Oversees the student mentoring program

·        Approves all middle school publications

Personnel Management:

·        Recommends in-service training for middle school  teaching staff

·        Interview and recommend potential staff

·        Provide vision, direction, oversight and support for CCS middle school staff

·        Direct supervision of CCS middle school staff

Strategic Planning:

·        Participates in curriculum review and selection for the XCS system

·        Implementation of programs to help ensure the spiritual vitality and growth of graduating HCS students.

·        Periodic review and modification of schools mission and vision

·        Planning for future expansion including staffing and facilities

Nature of Supervision Received (check one):

Routine work performed under immediate supervision with detailed instructions.  Activities required minimal decision making.

Primary routine work performed with supervision readily available.  Activities follow established, well-defined procedures, and basic decision are made within the scope of these procedures/guidelines.  Decisions outside the scope of the guidelines are referred to the supervisor.

Work performed independently with supervision available.  Manages and prioritizes own workload; expected to make some non-routine decisions requiring judgment and interpretation.

Under direction as to assignments and general methods of execution, with periodic review of assignments.  Expected to make non-routine decisions requiring analysis and interpretation with limited guidance from supervisor.

Under general direction as to broad assignments.  Determines methods and delivers final results.

Within the broadest scope of the unit's objectives, determines and executes major programs.

 

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

 

Education:  Bachelors Degree minimum, teaching degree desirable

Experience/Training: 

·         Leadership level training and proven ability to lead, administrate and manage an organization.

·         Maintain administrative credentials (1.0 CUE credits per year)

·         Strong human relation skills with both adults and children

·         Demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks at one time

Character: The person taking this position must exhibit all of the character qualifications for church leaders listed in 1 Timothy 3: 8-12, in both their church work and in their personal ministry.  In addition, the person filling this role must be ordained as a minister by the State of Ohio, under Xenos Christian Fellowship, Inc.  It is available for a minister’s housing allowance under IRS parsonage rules (primarily IRC sections 107 and 1402(b) and Revenue Rulings 70-549 and 72-606).

Computer Skills: Familiarity with IBM compatible computers; Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access software packages.  Familiarity with Network software desirable

Availability: Weekdays, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, some evenings & weekends.
